Reflection: Luke 24:46-53

The Ascension of the Lord - Luke 24:46-53

This Gospel begins with Jesus telling His disciples: “The Scriptures say that the Messiah will suffer, then three days later, he will rise from the dead. They also say that all people must be told in my name to turn to God and then they will be forgiven.”  Jesus reminds the disciples that they are his witnesses and because of that, they can testify to the truth of his life and his message.
Today, ask yourself: “How do I testify to Jesus?” The reality is that we have the opportunity to testify to Jesus all day long.  No matter what small task we may be doing, we still can testify to Jesus.  It may be by our words, our actions, and our relationships.  We don’t just have to preach Jesus’ word; we have to live it every day of our lives.  If we do this, one day Jesus will say to us: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
