Wednesday of the Sixth Week of Easter – John 16:12-15
This Gospel begins with Jesus telling his disciples: “I have
many more things to say to you; however you would not understand them now.” He then speaks of the Spirit who will come to
them. The Spirit will speak to them and
tell them what is true and right. In
addition, the Spirit will guide them into the full truth and the Spirit will
speak on Jesus’ behalf, instructing the disciples what they are to do.
Today Jesus will send the Spirit to each of us! The Spirit will speak to us and tell us what
is right and true. Jesus invites us to
listen to the Spirit when the Spirit speaks on behalf of Jesus. We do not know
the day nor the hour when the Spirit will come, nor do we know who may bring
the Spirit’s message to us. Be awake and
alert for the Spirit’s coming today!
Jesus will speak to you through the Spirit and through the events and
people in your life.
