Reflection: Luke 22:14- 23:56

PALM SUNDAY  - Luke 22:14- 23:56
Today we begin Holy Week, the most significant week of the Church Year.  On this Palm Sunday, we have Luke’s account of Jesus’ passion and death.  This is a story we know well!  Most likely, most of us could recount the main points of this gospel passage very well.   However, familiarity is not always a good thing as familiarity may breed contempt or perhaps indifference.
This week I invite you to quietly walk with Jesus as he experiences the wondrous reception as he enters Jerusalem and then to his arrest, passion, and death on a cross.  Walk with Jesus.  Be present to Him.  Imagine the emotions, the sorrow, and the pain He must have experienced as within a few short days, he went from enjoying a glorious welcome as King to enduring his arrest, torture, crucifixion, and death.
Jesus died for us.   He died to save us.  This week as we walk with Jesus, may we praise Him and thank Him for the great gift that He has given us.  May we not take this gift for granted!
