We, the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana, are monastic women seeking God through the Benedictine tradition of community life, prayer, hospitality, and service to others. By our life and work, we commit ourselves to be a presence of peace as we join our sisters and brothers in the common search for God.

20 days
I have not posted in a while and was browsing the blog and thought it would be time to start doing this again. I am very excited in 20 days Sr. Kathleen Marie and I will be making our Perpetual Profession to this monastery. It is a very exciting time. I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!! I am kind of nervous at the same time because there are going to be lots of people at the ceremony including the Bishop. I will fill you in with more details coming soon.

Kid Stories
Kids say what they think, don't they? I used to be able to draw stick people and get high praise from my younger students. These students, I guess, have grown up. The other day when I tried to draw a guitar, I got, "That's kinda good." I guess if it were really critiqued, I would have gotten, "What in the world is that?"
They're spelling is always interesting too, and it's good to remember that they're young and just learning to spell. I'm having the kids write cards for someone who is leaving. One little girl wrote, "I'm sorry you are living." I'm sure it's a spelling mistake and nothing personal. It's hard to spell when you have a southern accent.
As with most things, I can't take anything that's said or done too seriously. I mostly just laugh and have fun.
